Pappy made this style hat for Manny when he was trying to get him to come back into the hat business in 1965. Manny was selling insurance after his 8 years in the military and, as Pappy saw it, being a Hi Roller. Shortly after this gift, Manny returned to his father's shop and soon bought him out in 1971.
Similar versions have been worn by Rusty Wier, Ronnie Van Zant, Donnie Van Zant and many others.
